Two sisters。

One brutal murder。

A quest for vengeance that will unleash Hell itself…

And an intoxicating romance。

Emilia and her twin sister Vittoria are streghe—witches who live secretly among humans, avoiding notice and persecution。 One night, Vittoria misses dinner service at the family’s renowned Sicilian restaurant。 Emilia soon finds the body of her beloved twin… desecrated beyond belief。 Devastated, Emilia sets out to find her sister’s killer and to seek vengeance at any cost—even if it means using dark magic that’s been long forbidden。

Then Emilia meets Wrath, one of the Wicked Princes of Hell that she has been warned against in tales since she was a child。 Wrath claims to be on Emilia’s side, tasked by his master with solving the series of women’s murders on the island。 But when it comes to the Wicked, nothing is as it seems…

Did I read the same book as everyone else? CAUSE IT SURELY DOESN'T FEEL LIKE IT。With that jaw-dropping cover and intriguing blurb one would expect a dark, spooky, mysterious, gothic story with the perfect touch of romance。 A love between a witch and a prince of hell? Surely nothing can go wrong, right? RIGHT? Stop trying to convince me you are close。 You are not。 You are just dumb。 -The plot is so convenient at some point it wasn’t even funny anymore。-at this point, when I clearly hated Emilia's lack of braincells I thought (actually, hoped) the one and only mighty Prince of Hell would save this book。 Cause there is NO WAY I'd hate someone from hell。-turned out I couldn’t even hate him。 Cause in order for me to hate him would require some reasons。 And by reasons, i mean some characters traits。 He doesn’t have any to began with。 -anyway, after sighing in disappoint for the millionth time I decided all I cared about was her sister's killer。 Maybe that killer would be like Darkling and win my heart。 hey! A girl can hope!- guess what? I don’t even care about it anymore。- that plot was so boring, every single chapter was a struggle。 Every。Single。Chapter。- if anything is more boring than the plot then it's the chemistry between the two MC。 - or maybe the plot。 Idk。I started this book last year。 This book was like a permanent resident in my Currently Read Shelf。 It was almost embarrassing。 So I removed it from my shelf, even though I was still torturing myself with this book。 Almost every night before I went to bed。 Cause guess what? Making me fall asleep was the only thing this book was good at。 I knew I wasn’t in a reading slump since I was reading everything else but this book。 I wanted so hard to love this book but I wish there was at least something。 A single thing that would make me like this book but I guess it's time to admit the world is a cruel place。 Or maybe i just hate everything。 。。。more

Fatal, dark fantasy flourishes and creeps its way around these pages, clutching your consciousness, dimming your surroundings like I imagine a snake would, sedating you with its enthral beauty and invading your veins with vitriolic venom。

3。5 starsThis ending was mean!!Alright, I really enjoyed this book。Very light reading, good story and easy writing, it keeps you curious throughout every chapter。Absolutely love Emilia, she's a great character, and Wrath is。。。intriguing。 I needed to see a little more of him though。There were things I didn't like of course, such as the way some scenes and moments that felt big and powerful suddenly died out, and got fixed in half a dozen lines。The story develops very well but sometimes I got this 3。5 starsThis ending was mean!!Alright, I really enjoyed this book。Very light reading, good story and easy writing, it keeps you curious throughout every chapter。Absolutely love Emilia, she's a great character, and Wrath is。。。intriguing。 I needed to see a little more of him though。There were things I didn't like of course, such as the way some scenes and moments that felt big and powerful suddenly died out, and got fixed in half a dozen lines。The story develops very well but sometimes I got this feeling that there was a bit of rush to include all the characters in key moments, trying to force the mystery or the shock, and it didn't really work out。But overall it was the book the helped me fight the reading slump I'm currently facing and now I'm curious the read the next! 。。。more

This book has been around a few places and I've heard of the other series by this author that a lot of people seem to like。 So, I decided to give this ago and, it was a pleasant surprise when I found myself reading this book alongside two other awesome ladies。The reading experience was nice, because I was always looking forward to the discussion each week, but at the same time, the fact that I HAD TO read "these chapters", for "this day", made my experience reading this book a little less smooth This book has been around a few places and I've heard of the other series by this author that a lot of people seem to like。 So, I decided to give this ago and, it was a pleasant surprise when I found myself reading this book alongside two other awesome ladies。The reading experience was nice, because I was always looking forward to the discussion each week, but at the same time, the fact that I HAD TO read "these chapters", for "this day", made my experience reading this book a little less smooth than it could have been。 That is why I am not giving this book a rating, however, I do want to talk about the story a little。I like the concept, but I'm not always a fan of revenge stories。 I really like "The wrath and the dawn", which is a revenge story, but things there evolved differently than here。 I like the main character and the concept of there being different princes of hell, that represent the seven deadly sins。 I liked that Emilia's parents owned an Italian restaurant, and I was intrigued by Wrath。 But the rest of the story felt a little messy to me at times。 It felt like there was a lot of information mixed together and things that were barely important came up later being important。 And sometimes I would read things that I don't think had an explanation as to how they had gotten there? Maybe it was me, maybe I was distracted and didn't grasp the whole thing, but the story didn't always flow to me。And the romance? I don't know if we can call it that。 There was some tention, sure, but I didn't feel that much of a conection between the two characters for me to root for them that hard。 But I did like the writing style, and the idea behind it all。 Not to mention that I am very upset by this ending and now I need answers from the sequel!I hope you did enjoy this book if you've read it, or if you haven't, then maybe give it a try and see what you think! 。。。more

I went into this one with high expectations about the romance aspect of it。 I thought it was going to be true enemies to lovers complete with kickass character development and well, that is not exactly what I got from this one。 However, I am not necessarily too disappointed by that because I do not really like romance novels to begin with。 I am the kind of person who doesn't mind if there is romance in a book, but I don't actively go out searching for it either。 If a book has romance in it that' I went into this one with high expectations about the romance aspect of it。 I thought it was going to be true enemies to lovers complete with kickass character development and well, that is not exactly what I got from this one。 However, I am not necessarily too disappointed by that because I do not really like romance novels to begin with。 I am the kind of person who doesn't mind if there is romance in a book, but I don't actively go out searching for it either。 If a book has romance in it that's cool, but it is not a requirement for me。 This one fits that bill to a tee。Synopsis:Emilia and Vittoria have been taught their entire lives to fear The Wicked, the demon princes out to steal the lives and souls of witches。 Emilia and Vittoria both brush this off as paranoia on their grandmother's part。 They think their lives are pretty safe。 That is until Emilia's world is ripped apart when Vittoria is found brutally murdered。 Emilia will stop at nothing to seek vengeance on her sister and that even means working alongside the very people she had been taught to despise。 :)I love a good murder mystery and well the mystery in this one was just TOP NOTCH。 It kept me guessing until the very end。 I loved that and I loved how there were little "twists" sprinkled in throughout that unveiled the very complexity of this world。 When I first started reading I did not think this one would be as complex as it was, but dang was I wrong。 There are so many layers to this world and I totally underestimated just how complex it could be。 With that being said, it could be confusing at times, but overall the action and mystery kept me reading。 :(The romance in this one is a bit bland。 There was not much there in terms of romance so that was a tad bit disappointing for me。 I've heard from others that this one was more tension than actual romance and while I do see the tension build-up in this one I just was not convinced it was meaningful enough for my tastes。 I felt Emilia could be clueless at times and slightly annoying and there just was not enough backstory on Wrath。 Overall, I just felt like the lack of character development made it hard for me to root for the romance。 I wish everything was more fleshed out than what it was。 I just needed more from these characters。Overall, a really decent read。 Very complex world with a plot that will keep you intrigued and guessing。 It can be slow at times, but is definitely gripping at the end where I was just flipping pages to see what was going to happen。 Side note: book two is slated to be New adult so that means automatic preorder for me since that must mean there'll be *spice*。。。Haha and I said I was not a fan of romance。。。Spicy romance though? count me in!!Overall rating: 4/5 starsCAWPILE rating: 7。96/10 。。。more

okay listen, i really liked this book。 tbh i would let wrath do unspeakable things to me💀 i loved the background and the history building。 i loved the descriptions of things like foods and smells and etc。 i would not necessarily call this book an enemy to lovers, and more of a enemies to friends with sexual tension, back to enemies。 very good none the less。 i’m a person who likes some spice in my books but this was one where i was pretty okay with no spice。 big cliffhanger is leaving me VERY emp okay listen, i really liked this book。 tbh i would let wrath do unspeakable things to me💀 i loved the background and the history building。 i loved the descriptions of things like foods and smells and etc。 i would not necessarily call this book an enemy to lovers, and more of a enemies to friends with sexual tension, back to enemies。 very good none the less。 i’m a person who likes some spice in my books but this was one where i was pretty okay with no spice。 big cliffhanger is leaving me VERY empty hahahah。 i will be preordering the second book once i can and i am so very excited for it。 i am giving it 4。5 stars mainly because i feel like at one point it got a little slow, but other than that i was addicted。 i am a very fast reader and i had to stop myself multiple times from reading it in one sitting。 i do wish there was more pages, but with the amount of pages there were the amount of detail and description made this feel like an 800 page book, in a good way。 so much was able to fit in less than 400 pages without me feeling like i was being info-loaded。 and while i have very little problems with this book i am going to voice them。 like i said, book was slow at one point but it was a short time。 their emotions kind of confused me especially her emotions with wrath。 she says “so i sat there, beside the drying blood of my worst enemy, and wept。” not sure if she wept for him of for her feelings of being overwhelmed。 she also says at the end that wrath is her biggest enemy。 why? only thing i can think of is his cold demeanor to her at the end but i’m still confused。 also why had her not come when she summoned him in the palace? i understand why we got no explanation and that we will probably will in the second book but that will bug me。 also where is vitorrias diary? who ransacked their room? what the fuck did claudia do to herself? is emelias family okay? why not tell the girls the prophecy to begin with? if emilias side of the bargain included the princes not being able to go to the human realm, why are they inclined to oblige her? i thought their whole reason for getting a queen was so pride could leave to the human realm when he wished and so wrath could as well,bc all he had to do was sell one more soul and her did, so we’re that desperate or were her terms not able to be obliged? more things i think we will find out in the next book but it still irks me。 and so with that i give this book a 4。5 out of 5 and i am very very very excited for the next one and for the spice i am promised it will entail。 i just hope wrath and emelia are endgame。 i also want to see more power from her of course。 i love to see powerful woman lmao 。。。more

I can tell you for all my teens out there looking for a good romance that is brewed in drama and fantasy, you are in the right place! Our MC is a total baddie! I absolutely love Emilia's development throughout this book。 It is almost like you are growing alongside her, fighting an unseen evil。 The way the author plays with the 7 deadly sins is extraordinary (OFC they had to be hot guys lol)。 Wrath remains one of my favourites throughout the story and I can't wait to see what the next book brings I can tell you for all my teens out there looking for a good romance that is brewed in drama and fantasy, you are in the right place! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I loved this book。 I loved the mysterious atmosphere and although some parts felt a bit predictable or reused the author managed to confuse me enough times with different allegations against the different princes。 I could relate a bit to Emilia´s character but I have to admit that I felt little sympathy for Vittoria´s death since she wasn´t alive for long and also she wasn´t too great while alive for me to feel shocked or sad when she died。 It was a quick read with good pacing。

Took a bit to get into。 Granted I was listening to the audiobook and while the reader was ok, the dramatics were annoying。 Still, storywise, it quite a few chapters to get into but then it was interesting。 I ended up enjoying it even if a little to florish-y with the verbage。

Confused。comWhere do I even begin。 I have SO MANY QUESTIONS。 I enjoyed this book, witches, shapeshifters, magic, HELL PRINCES, a murder mystery, enemies to lovers。 Right down my alley。 It was a little slow at the beginning, but it did pick up as the I carried on。 However, that ending。 I am one confused girl。 WHAT IS HAPPENING。 Emilia is now queen of hell and is going to marry pride, so what does that mean for her and Wrath? Does her magic still work there? What’s with all the whispers? Does her magic still work there? What’s with all the whispers? Is it to do with her magic? The colour things she can see around people? The book, what happened to it? What about this first witch, is she still alive? Also the Mark wrath gave her, what does it mean? Does she still have it? WHO WANTED THE BRIDES DEAD? There’s so much that can happen。 Also I saw a theory that wrath and pride are the same person。 Who knows, that could be an exciting turn of events。 We actually haven’t seen pride yet。 AND there was a teaser and I remembered all the princes have actual names。 Omg imagine if wrath tells Emilia his true name because it turns out he loves and trusts her。 That would be so cute。 In an intense moment where one of them is on the brink of death and he says it right before the lights go out。 But then he doesn’t actually die and they live happily ever after and have adorable demon-witch babies and raise them in hell。 Nawwww。 Speaking of Wrath。 I love him but at the same time why is he so cryptic。 Actually, THIS WHOLE BOOK IS CRYPTIC。 There was so many riddles and at first things didn’t make sense but then 50 pages later Kerri revealed what it meant。 Kind of annoying but I guess that’s what made me want to read on because I had no clue what was going on half the time。 I’m excited to see where the next book goes now Emilia has has sold her soul to the devil。。。literally。 God knows where the whole Wrath and hers relationship will go, will they even be a thing in the next book? Kerri did say that it’s going to be more NA than YA, and romance heavy so I guess we’ll have to wait and see ;)。I’d like to see more of her magic too。 Obviously there was a lot of talk about spells and some use of it, but I’d like to see Emilias ability grow and see her use it more。 I liked how she wasn’t strong all the time and showed vulnerability, even when she shouldn’t have。 However, in the next book I think she’ll become tougher and she’ll be the one dealing the cards because she’s a badass witch queen of hell who’ll take no ones shit。 She should put these men in their rightful place, kneeling before her where they belong :)。 August come quick please xxxxxxx 。。。more

3。5 starsMostly spoiler free review:Overall this book wasn't bad, but there were a few things that I wished would've been done differently。 First of all, the whole concept of princes of Hell sounded very interesting。 I've been loving books with some darker twists to them, so I was really intrigued by this one。 Unfortunately it fell short。 The princes of Hell were so mellow。 They always politely asked Emilia, never took anything they weren't allowed to, they never really hurt anyone, in fact, the 3。5 starsMostly spoiler free review:Overall this book wasn't bad, but there were a few things that I wished would've been done differently。 First of all, the whole concept of princes of Hell sounded very interesting。 I've been loving books with some darker twists to them, so I was really intrigued by this one。 Unfortunately it fell short。 The princes of Hell were so mellow。 They always politely asked Emilia, never took anything they weren't allowed to, they never really hurt anyone, in fact, they seemed like perfect gentlemen who are a tad more power hungry, but nothing much beyond that。 Not like I thrive on sadistic horrible characters, but I mean we are talking about the princes of Hell, so I was definitely expecting them to be more。。。 evil? Unapologetic? Maybe it was set up this way because it's a YA novel and there are just things you can't put in YA, but I've heard that the sequel will be marketed as NA。 So like, why didn't we do that from the start and added a bit more villainy into it。 Everyone also wanted to Emilia to join their house and I just still don't know why? But again, they were mostly nice and understanding about it? (view spoiler)[ Also why didn't they just take her cornicello? I didn't understand that at all。 They could've just killed her and took hers。 And then when they finally did steal it they just left it in an abandoned tunnel for her to find? That confused me so much。 (hide spoiler)] When it comes to Emilia as a main character I definitely enjoyed her more than I did Audrey Rose, but still didn't love her。 I'm not sure if it's the first person POV that made her seem that way, or the way she was written, but sometimes she came off as if she was so sure of how badass she was, but then when something happened she froze up, didn't know what to do and someone else had to step in and solve the issue/ protect her。 Like I get it, if I were in those situations, I would freeze up too, (view spoiler)[ but then don't say "I'd rather take on 40 demons" and then five seconds later just stand there and let someone else handle the situation while you just stand by and do nothing (hide spoiler)] because if when she starts talking about how you'd take someone down but then doesn't do anything, it's just annoying。 Which brings me to another point about her, there are times when she's frozen up and scared and then other times she just says something or does something very small (view spoiler)[ like when she touched the cornicellos together and literally nothing happened so that made it seem like a big deal was made about nothing- I mean I understand they touched them together when they were younger but then why not just wear them both around her neck and keep them separated if it's no big deal that they'll touch again, I just don't get it (hide spoiler)] and suddenly the big threat is just gone, the person gives up and leaves or immediately listens to her。 It makes it all seem like the threat isn't even that big because anyone who seems evil for 5 seconds just immediately gives up (view spoiler)[ like with Antonio at the end of the book or Envy when she joined the cornicellos (hide spoiler)]。 Also that brings me to another point that ties my tirade about Emilia and the princes together。 How does she somehow always outsmart them? And they get displeased but never angry at her? That's another thing that made these princes of Hell seem very mellow。 Like I expected a lot more from them。Okay this is a tiny little thing, but it still bugs me。 We're set in Italy right? So can we please not use inches or feet as the measurement of length? I'm not 100% sure if every European country has meters, but I'm 99% positive so。。。 it just bothers me。The pacing of the story felt a little off at times too。 We spent 10-15 chapters trying to open a diary, but 2 chapters on finding out about, finding and battling a mythical beast? Also sometimes it felt like the story was going in circles, and some of the scenes were way too short, without enough character introduction。 I don't just mean appearance, but overall。 I couldn't grasp the personality of some of the characters, including some of the princes, because they appeared for half a chapter, and then never came back again。 I wanted them to be a bit more memorable, but they didn't really stick with me。Anyway, this is getting lengthy, let's wrap this up。 I felt like the story had so much potential, and though it was definitely readable, I just couldn't connect to the characters, some scenes seemed to go by way too fast, which made the characters in them not memorable, others dragged, which just messed with the pacing and the princes of Hell need to up their game because like this Emilia will easily just ask them to leave Hell and they give everything up to her in the next book。 I might pick the sequel up though, because I am still curious about where the story goes。 I won't hurry with reading it though。 。。。more
